    Adjustable Ratcheting Socket Tool

    Hello,

I saw a comment on my YouTube video directing me to this forum(thanks!), so here I am.

I designed and patented a new tool that combines a ratcheting wrench, an adjustable wrench and a vice grip functions in one easy to use tool.
I started working on this idea when I had to use my sockets... but I was missing exactly the one that I needed... tell me you never had this problem
But with this you have adjustability, you will never lose your bolt or nut because it holds it like a vice grip, but you can adjust and ratchet in the same time.

I managed to build a proof of concept that shows how it works, I'm looking for a company to bring it to the market.
This tool can be scaled up or down to cover a complete range.

Here is the proof of concept prototype:

I would really appreciate constructive comments, a help to manufacture this would be great.

    Thanks!

I hope that your final market-ready tool design will sell for less than $20 because you will be in competition with tools like these...

There are probably other variants of the design...

    Thank you for your reply.

My idea has ratcheting, none of these tools have it.
The size will be also smaller because the pushing action is axial, not in the same plane as the Loggerhead.

Excellent, thank you. Here's the full PDF of the patent: Adjustable ratcheting socket tool patent.

Have you considered Kickstarter? Seems like people are finding success on Kickstarter by running campaigns with low funding amounts that are essentially guaranteed to fund. They don't get a lot of money, but they get good promotion.

Not for the tool, but I had a campaign on Kickstarter for my "Shrinkable Sofa"

I'm looking for a manufacturer to license this tool, I don't have funds or connections to make this and sell it.

I did not see any locking mechanism as in vice grip so the nut/bolt head would remained locked if the tool were laid down and not held in your hand.
As you said the prototype is proof of concept Far too often tools machines or other things must go through a severe design change before a marketable product can be manufactured at a dollar cost average worthwhile for a manufacture to produce.
I am currently involved in redesigning a hydraulic lift that a guy approached me with his working prototype. He has a couple of fairly strong patents on it and at least 4 more pending His machine works admirably and has a 3 year proven history of use. The problem is in its current configuration it is not even remotely feasible for production manufacture and its dollar cost would be high enough that there would be zero market for it. I have spent the past 2 months of more redesigning it and in the process have unilaterally circumvented his patents yielding them null and void. So he is faced with spending $$$$$$ for re applying for patents which most likely will not be approved due to the long time existence of similar applications I built dozens of years ago and there are 100s if not 1000s of machines already manufactured and sold with close similarities
I'm just trying to give you a head's up on your tool and am not trying to knock it down in any way.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
