    I know it's probably not what you are supposed to do, but I think my first instinct would have been to turn to the left at the first cross street. I think I would want to try and reach the crash site to possibly render aid and because I don't think I would want to be anywhere near possible falling live power lines.

    Keep your wings straight and level while on approach, and keep a little extra altitude in reserve, after all, you're not a Naval Aviator, and you're not practicing for a "Carrier landing." Sadly, it is highly unlikely that anyone survived that incident.
