Magnificent city builders, houses that last for centuries, but absolutely hopeless at roof building.
Amazing! What will our cities look like in 2000 years?
It's obvious from roadway wear in Pompeii that the Romans used a system of one way streets to control traffic. Also, stepping stone "crosswalks" allowed pedestrians to cross the muck filled streets without soiling their sandals.
Compare this with any European city in the sixteenth century.
