If you have it most probably came out of an office, as they were used in an early
copying process, which involved dampened paper being inter-leaved with an stencil like sheet...
People, especially antique dealers erroneously describe them as book presses, whereas the correct term is copying press.
The 1906 Fairbanks cat I took the pic of, lists over twenty differentstyles and a couple that could be coupled to the office water supply for pressure!
