Nice right hander Buzz! I bet that left him with a "buzz" of his own, good on you. Al
Agreed, this thread is not about homemade tools. But it's about pseudoscience, which is strongly within our field of interest. Among web forums, we do an incredible job of staying on-topic, so this Tool Talk subforum is our chance to discuss stuff we like, but isn't always about homemade tools. These discussions also end up being searchable in Google, so they're a chance for us to attract people to this forum who share our culture and worldview.
I only saw John Prine in concert once, but he really delivered.
Here's a young John Prine with John Burns, playing Paradise in the backyard of the house he grew up in. 5:23 video, and the song starts at 2:07.
Another classic video, with John Prine in the raw, plucking in an old kitchen, delighting over the "Happy Enchilada" lyric joke:

A lot of old tunes get "updated" and when I saw Marv's fix for the moon nutbar's I thought of Old Dan Tucker:
(Chorus)
Get out the way, Old Dan Tucker
Out the way, Old Dan Tucker
Get out the way, Old Dan Tucker
You're too late to get your supper
Dan built a rocket to the sun
Folks said "Now, Dan, that can't be done!"
Dan laughed and laughed with all his might
"What? Do you think I'm crazy? I'm goin' at night!"
Get out the way, Old Dan Tucker
Out the way, Old Dan Tucker
Get out the way, Old Dan Tucker
You're too late to get your supper
Dan went to the doc and the doc said "Son-
Take off your clothes, stick out your tongue.
Now stand by the window." When Dan asked why
Doc said "I'm mad at that neighbor guy."

Buzz Aldrin took a jab at the new moon landing film (First Man) on his Twitter yesterday: https://twitter.com/TheRealBuzz/stat...59675649171456 . The film is under fire for downplaying the role of America in the first moon landing, specifically for omitting the iconic flag planting scene.
Chuck Yeager spoke out a few days ago too: https://twitter.com/GenChuckYeager/s...55347857981440

A homemade tool? I would have to give that a yes at least in part. I was reading through my mother's life journal that she started writing a few years before passing away. She made a brief mention of a company she worked for briefly that was owned by one of the women who came up with the stitch design for the multi layered fabrics used in the making of the gloves for the mercury suit worn by several of the astronauts during the development of the space program. the lady came up with the idea while working at a women's undergarment factory and developed her stitch idea at home years later the lady ran a company called Bloats aircraft trim which was where my mother worked when she met her.
So yes I would not be at all surprised that there are numerous home designed articles associated with the moon landings.
Just because the major conglomerate called NASA has its name tattooed allover everything does not mean that said named conglomerate actually could have or would have come up with anything had it not been for the individuals working for them. Those individuals did not check their thought and design processes at the gat upon leaving work each day they sat at their kitchen tables or in their recliners or at a desk at home and doodled their designs.
There once was an ill informed person who said you did not build this. Well I say no company ever could made anything of importance without some home-brewed idea
Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products
