I don't understand how this works. Are there any other videos that show these?

The conical shaped rollers are rolling the annealed plate such that the outer side of the plate is made thinner than the inside edge. The outside increases in length faster than the inside thus creating the auger. Huge pressures from the rollers are required, hence their massive size.

Actually, the part being rolled is called the "Flighting"
