There are some interesting processes shown in that video. I especially enjoyed the one at the very end converting railroad track directly into shovels.

There were several other processes shown in the video after the aluminum clip. From memory, some others include making kitchen knives, spiral HVAC pipe and fittings for HVAC systems, step type drill bits. Some of the processes are very automated, others like that last one are very hands on. At 9:44, the last segment begins, using what appears to be a hand held plasma cutter to cut up rails, then process some of the parts into shovels.

Remember, you can speed up long clips to watch them in 1/2 the time, and you can skip through entire sections when necessary. You can also slow them down when necessary, or move frame by frame.

I just skipped through and was suddenly looking at steel in a video about aluminum. I was wondering if they'd invented a new super hard alloy or something.

alumasteelaniniumn some good stuff. what many people dont know is that many steels have aluminum in them. and not the softer weeker steels, chromoly 4340 and others like it.
