    at least one of its uses is to suspend shopping bag string handles and thus provide a (more) comfortable T-handle while transporting.

    Aside: I bought the pictured Fieldmaster model because it has a saw which I use for impromptu drive-by pruning and a Phillips head driver instead of the usual corkscrew. (I have yet to encounter a corked bottle of wine on my neighborhood walks.)
