I'm impressed by the cheap plastic full port ball valves. They partially assemble the valve, then injection mold around the ball. As the plastic cools it shrinks to provide a tight seal around the ball. It's just all one piece with no gland that needs to be tightened. They use cheapness to their advantage in order to make a tight seal. Genius.
