    it has been a long time since I took a physics class, I wasn't very good at it either which was why I abandoned the idea of going into that field. the easiest way to describe it is the particles in an electron beam are either attracted or repelled by the force of magnetism the stronger the magnetic field or Gause the further the beam will bend. in the experiment they are using a pair of cylindrical electromagnets and varying the strength of the magnetic field. and the frequencies
