I just realized we have zero homemade pile drivers listed in the encyclopedia. I just found some interesting ones on YouTube.

Here's a good one:

This one is mine. Works great! I did remove the trailer jack and replaced it with a hydraulic spud for more stability and faster setup. I have driven several 5x5 square wood posts and several steel posts.

It is not easy to get a perfectly plumb post but I am typically doing the work by myself. Still easier than digging holes and putting them in concrete.
