    HA, I was expecting that pipe to "explode". They are not seamed together very well, he was lucky.

    Likewise. Seen it happen, another one is pressurising drains. more than one has been cracked or joints blown apart.

    I have a brass ball, about 1-1/4" diameter, I just drop that down the top, it works pretty good at pushing all the detritus out.

    I lived in an old house where there were no storm sewers and lots of storm water found its way into the sanitary sewers causing our basement floor drains to back-up. So I bought an expanding rubber plug to plug the drain. I got the idea to make one with a valve stem. Hit that with an air tank and it literally blew the iron cap off in the middle of the street and it sent a column of sewage several feet in the air.

    Not sure if that was a great idea or not. It seemed to work though.
