This Harry Bryan Betty runabout, built by Reynard38 on WoodenBoat.com, is an adventurous build by a 3-time boatbuilder who worked his way up from a first boat built from a kit. It will be powered by a diesel engine, and is largely built from blown down white oak.

What's interesting about these wooden boat builds is the focus on craftsmanship and woodworking knowledge. The thread has numerous photos, many of them displaying shots of planks of wood, with everyone joining in to compliment the straightness, lack of knots, or to offer an opinion on lumber quality and wood species.
