Many serious projects start out with "maybe will take a few months...", especially when the builder admits it's his first build. This trimaran, built by ar99kid on BoatDesign.net, is no exception; it's a huge build, and a major mission for a first time builder!

I was admittedly pretty skeptical of the wood/walnut grip/gold color theme, but I was pleasantly surprised at how it came out.

The builder, based in Romania, is aiming to make this boat comfortable for four people to do a 15-day cruise. The boat has been out of the water for almost a decade, and is getting a complete interior reconfiguration, so it's an extraordinary amount of work. Incredible undertaking, and like many great projects, most of the work is...

...sanding.
