Boring head accessory for turning posts/tenons.

This is an accessory I made for my boring head. I primarily use it in the tailstock of my lathe to turn short lengths to a repeatable size. Once set it can be removed from the lathe and replaced as part of a multistage turning and drilling operation. It could also be used in a mill to turn tenons or posts on parts, again once set it is repeatable if needed. Advantage of this over using a boring bar is that you can take a much heavier cut and depending on your cutting tool you can face (flat or angled) or even cut a form on the face at the same time.

Very simple to make, just some scrap square bar turned on one end to fit into my boring head, then a slot was created (in my case sawn and filed but you could easily mill it if you have the tools for that) for a piece of HSS and a grub screw holds this in place. Grind your HSS to suit the job at hand.
