Bottom quill nut, spacer for my 3hp Enco mill

I finally got around to putting my Mill back together the new bearings arrived months ago, I had made the spindle bearing nuts for it months ago as well. The ongoing prototype project I am working on was nearing the point that I really needed the mill. So while waiting on parts I decided there is no time like the present time When I started fitting all the pieces back together, I noticed the bearing nuts were only going to catch about half the threads with the new taller bearings. I bored the quill then pressed in the races this was when I noticed 1 change always brings about another. the tapered bearings were taller but the races were not so after boring the quill the bottom nut was not going to touch the race .
I made a spacer ring out of a scrap piece of 2 7/8" oilfield tubing
