Again, hmm. Did a brake job on front of the F-150 last weekend. There were several potential sizes listed, within about .200 diameter, and there is room in the caliper.
WTH? No ordinary caliper has long enough legs to do this, and back side w-aay too much hardware.

I crawled under with a tape measure.
If I was running a shop, this appears worthwhile for DIY on a rigid steel scale; and probably not $70- $180-$300 bucks, material & labor included.

Other than determining which rotor diameter the car had for ordering a replacement I don't know. and since Hazet makes some of the highest quality tools you can find in Germany, Not really a gimmick. I do suspect though that this tool may be targeted more for the Polizei to use when stopping someone going really fast on the Autobahn to assist them in evaluating your max safe speed . Not sure how it is now since it has been quite a few years since being over there but back when I lived in west Germany your maximum allowed travel speed on the Autobhan was determined by the tread depth tire width and rolling radius plus the speed code on the tires, If your vehicle was suspect of meeting certain safety standards you might be told you had to have your vehicle inspected by the TUV for certification Vehicles with the Green USA number plates were exempted from a TUV inspection unless stopped for what might be determined excessive speed on the Autobahn. The German TUV checked about 600 things on a vehicle to certify for registration.
