I worked for HK. The case cost more than the gun. Putting it across your stomach or against your leg is the correct way to fire it.

I have the MP5, now I just need the case. The last functioning case I saw was selling for more than 1K. There is a guy who is working on replicating the mechanism to put into a similar briefcase, so maybe one day I can do that. I do need the scope mount though.
