    Here in the land of liability lawyers and the consequent nanny state, we could never conceive of trying something like this.
    I do overbuild. I'm no engineer and don't know that I could use a narrower bolt or a narrower stick of material. Nevertheless, if this is what the resources of these people allows them to do, then I say, "good on you."

    I like the can-do mentality but boy they must need that bus where it is going very badly!

    The Twitter thread I found this in is a good example of Poe's Law - in internet posts, it's difficult to detect sarcasm. This was posted with the title "Public transport in Nepal". I don't know if this actually Nepal, but it's not public transport. I'm guessing it's a sketchy vehicle rescue operation. Anyway, the comments are filled with offended Nepalese people.

    Cableways are a pretty common engineering practice. Here's one lowering a rail car to the Hoover Dam Powerhouse in 2019. That BUILT the Hoover damn in the 30's moving concrete via cableways
