    Seems inefficient that they shoot the "rejects" back into the general pool. They could replace the toothed plate with a ramp to a collection bucket that would keep the shot parts separate.

    (Since I don't even know what language is being spoken, perhaps that is what the one guy is explaining to the mill wright.)

    I think the issue is the button is "upside down" so the question then becomes is it more efficient to shoot it back in the pool for the system to try again, as opposed to some mechanism to flip the button over. The current method has less moving parts (reduced complexity), and is obviously running at the required throughput.
