This vintage log cabin was built by Adina Johnson and husband on SimplyCountryLife.Blogspot.com,
The cabin was built on land in South Carolina. It took 1 1/2 years of work on weekends and night to get the exterior done, plus at least as long to work on the interior.
Most of the work was done by the husband-and-wife team, although professionals were called in for the roofing, chimney stone, and fireplace install.
What's interesting here is the use of reclaimed wood for construction. Wood was salvaged from pallets, redesign throwaways, and old barns. The exterior logs are salvaged, flooring was made from modified 2x4 lumber, an old pie safe was used as a sink vanity, and the kitchen cabinets were made from reclaimed century-old barnwood.
