This was from a few years ago and better results have been achieved since then.

I thought the same approach could be used on Harley-Davidson Sportster 'Evo' heads, the original ports make an updraft intake,which is also present on aftermarket heads. I've looked at them pretty close and it seems there is plenty of material before you hit spring seats.
They were only making around 44~45bhp at wheel which is pretty pathetic for 883cc
