The daughter in law's cousin is a professional 'caulker' on BIG commercial buildings; and his work looks like that...I asked him if he needed to smooth the bead out...and he smiled, 'nah"...everything is easy when you know how...

That's not proper caulking! That's just a bead of caulk on the floor, next to the skirting! I'll bet there's almost no caulk BETWEEN the floor and the skirting. That's just s waste of material!
Proper caulking should be almost invisible.

I’ve had to remove crap like that because everything moves and adding caulk like that just highlights the movement and it winds up looking terrible. 👎
