This is just a simple center punch forged from automotive coil spring. I forged the round coil to hex, formed the taper for the punch and then heat treated it. This was my first time forging a hexagon. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. It's a longer video but still hope you enjoy.

Yes, it's very handy! And really, it wasn't as hard to do as I thought it would be. I can't believe I was so apprehensive about it.
According to the guy that coaxed me into doing this hexagon shape, he's good friends with John Switzer, hexagons make a very good looking twist, so I'd be interested in seeing the result if you do try it. And I may give it a shot myself
