    Clevis jig

    Hi All
I often have to make clevis forks so thought I would share how I make them.
I normally make a few at a time and the first operation is to mill each end of the stock material and centre drill and drill the hole for the clevis pin. A slitting saw or side and face cutter is then used to cut the fork to depth. To turn the opposite end the clevis fork it is cut from the main stock material slightly over the required length. The fork is then fitted to a homemade jig to complete the diameter and the internal thread. The final operation is to file the radius of the fork using file buttons. File buttons.
The jig makes this a very quick and simple task in making everything concentric and true and all the same.
