    Close up slitting saw arbor

A small arbor for my milling attachment for ER20 collets to get within 1.5mm of a face, it can be useful sometimes to get close to vice jaws etc. especially useful for small parts.
In this design the location is by the clamp disc which is a good fit in the arbor instead of the more usual external step, this enables different thicknesses of saw on the same arbor, the saw shown is only .008 inch thick (.2mm), last used to finish a .125'' spring collet, smallest in a set of six.
Anyone who likes this idea can scale it to suit your preferences. I have a larger version which I use in the 3 jaw.

Excellent idea with clamp insert. Much better than usual style arbors. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your interest, clamp insert is a better description than clamp disc.

I like it! Few commercial saw holders understand 'compact'.
I'd recommend to others making one, these aren't for 'milling' style peripheral cutters, just saws. This drives by friction only, not key and slot. Consider placing blade cutting opposite rotation that tightens the screw. MIGHT prevent when saw binds [and spindle doesn't] applying such torque loosening can be very difficult.

    Download plans for milling tools.

    Sincerely,
