    More important to close the bag.

    We don't eat cereal, but for things in bags like crackers, or whatever, we've found the impulse sealer we have for business stuff is really handy. Use part of the bag of crackers, reseal it. Next time cut off that bit, use some more, seal again. Generally the bag doesn't get short faster than we use the contents.
