I want to see the alignment of those holes from the bottom of the workpiece. Betcha it doesn't look like the top.

It was piloted. If it was a gun drill that would be a different level of straight. Perhaps drilled initially with a gun drill and enlarged with the helical drill? The high pressure coolant helps keep them straight to.
