It would depend on what the liquid is, it might taste good. Most likely though it is for the "coolness" effect of being part of the "in" crowd.

However, I am trying to figure out what is causing the changes. It reminds me of using titration using methylene blue (I think) to determine PH. Chem lab was nearly 50 years ago and I haven't done that kind of stuff since then. If the PH of the drink is very close to the indicator change point it wouldn't take much change to make it turn blue. The escaping CO2 bubbles may be responsible for this (if that is the gas we see in the bubbles). But the confusing part for me is how it changes back and forth without any visible additions or changes to the solution.

Well I certainly wouldn't drink it without knowing what is in it. I am more interested in how it works than how it tastes.
    Call it chemical curiosity...

Whiskey/ Burbon, straight up, neat. Taquila blended in a blender with ice triple sac or margarita mix till slushy, Gin only a breath of tonic shaken. wine red, white, rose' ever so slightly chilled Beer, American(gag) 29° in a frosted mug. Bier German slightly below room temp. Stouts English, anyway you can get it. Brandy room temp or slightly heated. Champagne is for breaking the bottle on the bow of a boat. nowhere is there a colored, fruity, or smoking drink in my vocabulary. OH yes the best for last Shine is best right out of the drip.

Good points Frank, no argument against any of it. However my favorite Islay from my ancestral lands is so smokey that I swear there is a small whisp escape when you open a new bottle.
