Either this is some bad AI generated video, as that corn is still green, and the ears too wet to harvest. That is perfect for corn silage, but requires storage bunkers or silo's to store out of the weather to let it ferment, AND you grind up the stalk, ear, leaves and all, just above ground level, so not for this function. I hear, cows can get drunk on this feed if too early in the fermenting process. But I can't see harvesting that wet of an ear. And it's too dry for human consumption.
It may be, their local method. But why single row picker? Sure a single human can walk behind, just like the planter, and plow, field prep. The rows look way too long for the hopper size, so I see no practical use of such a small machine, maybe seed corn picking, but my memory around here in Iowa, the seed corn is picked when it's dry. But I guess I don't get to see the whole process, I know they end up in special packaging buildings way west of me. Lot's of TV adverts to get farmers to think they will have 500bushel/acre crop with their special genetics.
Hire lots of kids to tassel to prevent self pollination, as every 5th or so row is the special male plant. I'm not sure how they get corn to mate correctly, as some ears have bags over the ears I think as the pollen is brushed on by trained (a few minutes of class) technicians. My neighbor worked as an inspector for qualified hybrid corn. She said, it was making sure there was no other corn field by some required distance from the hybrid field. I think pollen blows with the wind, so my guess is, a few kernels in the seed bag, are random genetics.
So it looks like they took a snow blower, and made some minor modifications. Sorta like all the mini- excavators, dumpers, articulating loaders, micro loaders, etc. all come from the same idea, and they sell enough of these to the world to make a small fortune, as from seeing how they are packaged, look like kid engineers, working on CAD, and kid trade school trainee's learning to machine, weld, and general fab from drawings machines that use 8-16HP engines, mostly hydraulics, and do a task, that should be done by a big machine. But if you have time, will do the job, and if you like to fix things, then you own the right tool as well. (don't ask why I know, and I would do it again, as I learned stuff).
