Concorde flying at supersonic speed - photo

The only photograph of the Concorde flying at supersonic speed. Taken from a stripped-down RAF Tornado combat aircraft after several attempts.

Thanks for answering my question before I asked it! As soon as I saw the picture my brain jumped straight to.....how in hell did they get that photo? It could have been done with 2 Concords flying loose formation.....But who would pay for the fuel and everything else just so they could get a picture of it in flight? I thought about from a military jet but Timing would be a factor. i.e. military jet is supposed to be doing military training etc. NOT supposed to be chasing speed of sound airliners around the sky. And military jets usually told to keep out of the civilian airlines parts of the sky.

It is entirely possible that the "chase" plane taking the photograph happened to be one coming out of major maintenance while performing their MX test flight out over the Atlantic and back. I narrowly missed an opportunity to fly along on one of those flights to test my product, and that would have been a huge high-point in my aviation career. Years later, walking through the static display at Boeing Flight Museum in Seattle was a bit claustrophobic. I was surprised how compact they were for all the "big names" who'd flown them on London-New York route.
