How does the funnel help? Seems if they backed the truck up another foot or so, the concrete would go right down the center of the shaft (and they wouldn't need the vibrator to keep it moving.)
I could see it being useful if they were trying to fill a 12 inch column, but not for that huge form.

Concrete should not fall more then 2-5 feet to minimize segregation of the aggregates. Typically that funnel would have a long rubber extension attached.

If they were pouring if directly from the chute, the concrete would be leaving the chute in a narrow parabolic arc, possibly contacting the sides before getting to the bottom. The funnel is directing it straight down.

Thinking they are not going to fill that whole thing with concrete. I am guessing they are pouring a floor at this point. Perhaps later form the sides to create a space, deep concrete lined "room". Perhaps for hydraulic elevator cylinder, etc.

    Just my guess.

Looks like the "long rubber extension".....fell off!
