Methinks Ducati may know a thing or two about those type of cams.

Ducati had a bike with a desmodromic valve mechanism that would push the valves open and pull them closed. The idea was to do away with valve springs that cause valve float at high rpms. I think Mercedes may have also tried that idea as well.
