That's why they described it's engines as " six turn'in and four burn'in". It was a literal aluminum overcast!

We will be taking the grandkids to Pima Air and Space Museum soon and will see the last B-36 built which is on display there. I had occaision to be driving behind the museum during the time they were restoring it at the rear of the grounds and saw the progression of it.
