    The imported ones are not expensive, about $160 AUD, say about $100 US. The copper pipe needs to be annealed to prevent splitting.

    Yep, heat it up glowing and dip it into water. And you have soft copper. Copper tubing is work hardened when it is drawn over a mandrel.
