Crescent is a registered brand name and I do not see anything Crescent in it - adjustable wrench maybe.

True, True - this is not a Crescent wrench.

It actually is a pretty bad implementation of an adjustable wrench, the jaws don't seem to hold position very well as witnessed by the constant need to adjust them when taking machine bolts out of wood - really?

Also, the flex point of the wrench is where the rebar necks down, so it will be quite easy to fatigue that area and it you apply any force, it will bend.

I think a lot of people make these kinds of tools just to see if they can. Not for the practicality or usefulness. For all we know they could be apprentices just learning.
Does it resemble an adjustable wrench? Yes
Will it function as an adjustable wrench? within limits but yes.
Could it be used as a backup wrench only requiring it to hold? probably not even close to the level a cheap bargain counter adjustable could, but ultimately yes.
Does it inspire me to make one of my own? No.
