Cruise ships conveyed on river - photos

For some reason I feel claustrophobic looking at those pictures.
I guess there's no backing up and turning around if you make a wrong turn there.

I love all of the people watching in the third pic! With my luck I'd be the guy late for a job interview in the last picture. "It's gonna be how many hours before the bridge goes back down??!!"
Cruise line: "We want the beam to be 100 meters this time". Shipbuilder: "Sorry, we can only go 90 meters wide but we can make it as long as you want!"

evrytime I see one of those cruise ships I wonder how long it will be before it goes turtle

Yes, and the consequences of blocking a flowing river are a lot worse than blocking a static (e.g. Suez) canal.

One more thought, that must be a fairly deep river for a ship that size to pass through.
