I think I'm seeing some sort of safety line that appears to go to the operator's cab. But it also looks like it's hooked to the same hook his bridging fixture and machine is connected too.
My safety alarm does not like that, as if the failure happens to be the main crane, that operator is a goner.

I'm pretty sure he is wearing his safety orange parachute. The base jumping model. Automatically deploys.

100% the crane. Time is money and sending that guy up and down on a ladder is a ton of unnecessary downtime. Also lets you refuel the machine.

Not sure what is going on with the video. CAT is a mirror image and debris is flying upwards at 0:05! What is the purpose of the video shenanigans?

You are correct in seeing it playing backwards and reversed flip as well. I think that's because the video drone footage belongs to someone with copyright. That obfuscates the algorithms that search for that.
Sure, there's danger in every job, but I'll leave this job to someone with size 18 neck, size 3 head (as my dad would say).
