Depth stripping? As in only the insulation, never saw one work this way.

It would appear they are stripping a cable that is circular in shape. One that does semi-flat Romex cable would be nice to have.

the cylindrical cable is quite popular in Europe Asia and the Middle East as opposed to romex You can find it in 2 conductor w or with out ground all the way to 25 conductor with a PVC outer shell. Most of us would take one look at it and think that's just stuff to make white extension cords out of. Well yeah! it is used for those a lot as well. On a construction site you might find many kilometers of them strung everywhere ranging from 1.5mm or about 15 AWG through 35mm cables or about #2AWG any thing you find strung out on the floor or hanging from the walls on a construction site of 5mm or larger is most likely going to be 4 or5 conductor and will have 415v 3 ph in it anything above 35mm cable will probably be armored as well I've seen bull dozers drive over 500mm armored cable carrying 500+ amps of current through them that's about the same as 1000MCM in size
