This project started with the idea of it being just a set of parts for positioning indicators, However, it soon became obvious that it had other uses, typically, an Instrument Makers Vice and a Heavy Duty Helping Hand, to name but two. See my video for examples of the accessories being used.

A very good compilation of accessories for every toolmaker bench!!!
That beats the usual third hand with crocodile clips. I think that I'll make one.
For those who don't wish to build a new base, one can get away with replacing the alligator jaws with miniature machinist's clamps as I did here...

Well, here in California, we have neither outside of zoos. However, lots of 'gators' in the swampy states bordering the Caribbean - Texas, Florida, etc..Quote:
