Hi G.Paul! I did not understand your comment. Did you want to show some unexpected results with a photo? I used the drill normally throughout the week. It's working perfectly...

Due to recent events (M4A - PAC MAN Edge Finder - DIY), I will be absent from this forum indefinitely. I hope that my few contributions can be useful to members and collaborators. I apologize, but as of today I will not answer any more posted messages.

    M4A.

Well now did you get offended. I bean sharpening drill bits for 58 years by hand don't need any special fixtures or home made guiding devices. Any machinist or tool maker needs to learn how to sharpen drill bits by hand. Your picture showed the chisel edge or tang being in line with the cutting edge. One just don't hold the drill straight to the grinding wheel there has to be a rolling action to give you relive on the flutes if not you will create a heel. It seams to me people getting in the machining work make a big issue about sharpening a drill bit but its really not if your taught the proper way. Sorry you have a issue with my post
