GPS stabilized. Mine needs to see at least 10 satellites to be fairly stable. Will often times be locked on to over 20. I could imagine being in a city canyon formed by buildings might limit the amount satellites that it could see. These may also use forward looking sensors to maintain a specific distance from the building.
