    Dumbing Down.

Cars got cruise control, Anti-skid brakes, automatic accident avoidance, self parking for those who can't drive and now autopilots which drive you around without input.
Now to attack a skilled Trade:

Actually I would love to get my hands on one of these.

I know I can't afford it, but any idea how many zeros would go on the check?

Laser welding = equals fusion welding? But where is full weld strength without filler rod?
    Sincerely,

Jdurand, I think terryjs just answered that. Thanks Terry.
Toolmaker51, They produce complete full strength welds usually far better than can be achieved with other methods,at least that is what the experts say, also filler rod can be used either a similar metal or a dissimilar one and the fusion is complete.
More and more things are being automated nice to see some things being 'humanated' for a change.

I'm from Missouri- the "Show Me State". I have to see test results of this machine. I do understand that laser welding may be the future, but I don't want to be the test pilot and have to write the first check. It is pretty impressive, I'll have to say!

One advantage of laser welding is you can do it in a vacuum chamber. We have some nice insulated Chinese bowls, vacuum welded two layer stainless which automatically gives them vacuum insulation. Work well and not expensive.
