What an excellent technique for a fast and accurate set up. I have read about similar methods but the video was very helpful showing how to do this easily and quickly. Thank you

Don't want to start a new thread as I like the idea to have a few different designs in one thread. Then one can decide which is best your you either with respect to time, application or material available, like today 1 Jan, no chance to go and buy a specific bearing if you do not have one lying in the shop.

Who can tell me what is going on inside this thing. Is it something I can make or do I have to go and buy it?

More interested at the edge finding part than the center of the hole. 1st I have to find the EDGE.

Garage Nut many times the edge is irrelevant. The hole center may be needed to create a bolt pattern around it or to repeat an existing pattern that the hole is a part of. Also, very useful in reverse engineering an existing part.
