Oh that's neat. I'm totally stealing that and making one tonight.

But you need to ditch that dirty old drill chuck and get some proper collets. I bet if you put that tool in the chuck three times you'd get three different measurements.

Edit: just collets. Sleep deprivation.

Thank you for your interest and comments nova_robotics! I still haven't found any difference in position repeatability, as the chuck is new. A new set of collet chucks only at the end of the year, a Christmas gift... Then put a photo of your work to see how it looks. M4A.
