So much for zero emissions! Where's the auto kill for the charger? Our 48V forklift chargers have an auto sensor in case there's a short or if they overheat.

This video was out last year (maybe not here, but other sites) and there was much discussion about it.

One of the biggest issues is that a small cell internal to the battery pack can fail and once it starts failing, the heat rises rapidly which causes nearby internal cells to over heat and then the reaction cascades. I have been told that once the first cell goes, the reaction is self sustaining.

One of the byproducts of some lithium battery technologies is that hydrogen is produced in abundance.

They aren't really zero emissions even if they don't catch fire unless they are recharged with wind, hydro or solar power. All these people driving around feeling smug about saving the planet (which doesn't need to be saved) not realizing that coal or natural gas is very likely being burned to make the electricity that they are using.
Stupid is forever, ignorance can be fixed.

Not true, most of our electricity here is provided by hydro electric or nuclear power so...and yes the planet needs a ton of help.
