    Had that happen to the pole in front of our house last summer. Was not a primary pole like that one. Just a secondary, with the transformer for our house only. The crew replacing the pole said a bad connection at the top of the pole, where the high voltage line came from across the street, caught it on fire. What am not able to figure out if why the pole burned about a foot down from the insulator attachment point, yet there was no charring at the top.

    Just like in the video, there were no conductors at the point where the pole was burning. Looking closer at that video, there seems to be some stuff hanging before the pole burns through. perhaps some damage to the pole, or one close to it sparked that fire.
