End Knurling

I needed to put ridges on the face of a 5/8" nut. Here is how I did it with a standard knurling tool on my lathe.

I'd never played with a right handed knurled stop with a left handed locking nut. The stop has a small spring loaded ball on its face which can engage with those knurled ridges I formed. Turn the locking nut to the desired location and then turn the stop to meet it. When their faces touch, further turning of the stop simply does not budge it. Yet turn back the locking nut and it is easy. Cool mechanism!
