Nice project, I like doing this kind of stuff. I'm not an expert myself. Working as a mechanic when new engines or transmissions came out it was always a challenge to diagnose when loaded with electronics. My favorite thing was making a breakout box with test jacks that would plug in between the engine and the ECM. I could monitor live data with a volt meter or my laptop with an oscilloscope program. Some of the OEM programs worked very well, but there were times when you needed a little more. Thanks.
