    Engineers hammer- type small

I saw Rossbotic's nice brass hammer so I thought folks would like to see hammers I make using knurled pin punches for the handles. I use hex bar for the heads which are drilled to take replaceable ends which can be of brass, aloominoom ( wood or some sort of nylon/plastic stuff.... The pin punches are of course hard at the ends so I used my mini tool post grinder to grind a slight taper then used a hydraulic press to squeeze them together-seems to be a permanent marriage as the two I kept for myself show no signs of losing their heads. One has a ball bearing in one end- nice for dimpling etc.
The first picture shows the first one made then I pimped them up a bit.
I give them to customers (sometimes)...

They are nice. Almost too nice to hit against things.

Beauties and a novel idea using pin punches! I like the one with the ball bearing. Is that pressed in also?

You would be surprised at the range of things "plinked" with this hammer: from draw bars to fine saw adjustments .... I think having replaceable ends is a commendable feature.

The uninitiated, have a tendency in overlooking or under-appreciating skills/ tools, and desire to produce.
Traits WE depend on. Certainly one is judicious use of a striking device, in proper size and material. Another is to collect and utilize abilities in completing a project. aphilipmarcou's hammers display all the positives, from material, completion and satisfaction.
    Salutes to aphilipmarcou!
    Sincerely,

    aphilipmarcou,

I like your very clever use of the harden steel knurled pin punches for the hammer handles. Also these would be an excellent gift around the Holidays.

Thank you for the posting and ideas.
